Marvel Avengers Alliance: Maximizing Command Points (New CP Farming Method)

Hi Agents, we all know that the ways to get Command Points are using gold, the roulettes, or getting 5 stars in a mission. Let's focus on the roulette.
Command Points cp farming method

In this post I will inform which missions are the best to get Command Points  using the roulette, considering how much energy you use and also XP& all other things.

Remember that in each boss roulette we have a chance to earn 1,3 or 5 CP and in an epic boss roulette we have a chance for 3,5 or 10 CP and also the epic drop

Normal Missions:
CH1 M1:
Boss:Viper(Generalist XP:65)
Team up:Hawkeye(Tactician)
Minibosses:None Epic Boss: None
Deploys:None

Other battles: 2 low threats(20 XP each) Pro: This mission is very short and easy, you only need 30 energy to finish it, so for every 60 enegy you have 2 chances at the roulette, plus XP. You can do this mission 4-5 times in the day( Not considering energy gifts).

Con: The problem with this mission is the other rewards of the roulette, the weapons that you can get here are kind of useless even for PVP slot, so if you are unlucky you can end with a bunch of consumables and a poor weapon.

CH1 M2:
Boss: Whiplash(Scrapper  XP:65)
Team up: Iron Man(Blaster)
Minibosses:None
Epic Boss: None
Deploys: Hawkeye(1 battle)
Other battles: 2 low threats, 1 Medium Threat(50 XP)

Pro: You can get to the boss roulette of this mission with 30 energy. First fight the medium threat, then do the deploy, fight a low threat, collect your deploy reward and finally fight with Whiplash. This mission is better than 1.1, the difficulty is basically the same but you can get a consumable with the deploy.

Con: Like 1.1, except for the CP, the rewards in the roulette are poor. With the new roulette system you might get a high PVP bonus item, but I'd rather get 5 CP than 10 of those.

CH7 M3:
Boss:Jack O'lantern(Blaster XP(fighting with miniboss):145 )
 Team up: Black Cat(Infiltrator)
Minibosses:Vector(Blaster  XP:115 )
Epic Boss: Green Goblin(Scrapper  XP:200) Epic Drop: Goblin Glider
Deploys: any hero(1 battle), any hero(1 battle), 1 tactician(3 battles), Spiderman(2 battles), 1 scrapper(1 battle)
Other battles: 4 low threats(55 XP each), 4 high threats(105 XP each)

Pro: You can also get to the boss roulette of this mission with only 30 energy. First fight Vector and then do some of the deploys, do a high threat and collect your deploy rewards, finally fight with the boss for the roulette. The XP here is good and also the weapons are a lot more better than in CH1 M1.

Alternative Path: 1 high threat, 1 deploy, 1 high threat, 2 bird boss. (Of course you can do more deploys)

Con: The problem here is if you want the goblin glider(one of the best epic drops), you'll need spiderman(90 CP) and also a lot more of energy in order to acces to epic boss. If you want to get this drop, it's better if you fight the boss and the miniboss together to save 10 energy.

CH4 M4:
Boss: Vapor(Infiltrator XP(fighting with miniboss): 140)
 Team up: Invisible Woman(Infiltrator)
Minibosses:Fixer(Blaster  XP:100)
Epic Boss: Magneto(Tactician  XP:200)
Epic Drop: Magnetic Field Generator(MFG)
Deploys: 1 scrapper(2 battles), any hero(1 battle), any hero(2 battles), storm(2 battles)
Other battles: 3 medium threats, 2 high threats

Pro: You can finish all this mission(including the epic boss and a 2 bird) with 70 energy, that means a boss roulette and an epic boss roulette. The MFG is of the most useful gadgets in the game, so if you don't have it, is a good idea to try this mission. It's true you will need 70 energy, but that' just 10 more energy of doing twice CH7 M3 or CH1 M1, also the epic boss roulette has better CP rewards(not considering the epic drop)

Con: You need to deploy Storm in order to acces the epic boss, this mission requires a little bit more of energy, if you are unlucky that could be a waste. Magneto is not a difficult epic boss..... but he can be really, really annoying because he's always using shields and particular debuffs. The 2 bird battle with Vapor can be hard, specially if you don't have Invisible woman, she appears at level 6, so be careful.

CH3 M5:
Boss: Green Goblin(Scrapper  XP(fighting with minibosses): 165) Team up:Hawkeye(Tactician)
Minibosses: Vulture(Tactician  XP:85), Sandman(Bruiser  XP:80)
Epic Boss: Dr.Doom(Blaster  XP:190)
Epic Drop: Doombringer
Deploys:Black Widow(1 battle), Spiderman(2 battles), Blaster(1 battle), Tactician(2 battles)
Other battles: 2 low threats, 2 medium threats, 1 high threat

Pro:You can finish all this mission(including the epic boss and doing a three bird) with 80 energy, that means a boss roulette and an epic boss roulette. The Doombringer is a very useful gadget and it's worth of getting.10 more energy than CH4 M4,but if you don't have the doombringer, is a good idea to try this mission.

Con: You have to do the deploys as soon as they are available, otherwise you will use more than 80 energy. Also, if you want to figth the epic boss you will need spiderman. The epic boss is not difficult, just bring 2 tacticians and you should be fine( For more information see the Epic boss thread).

UPDATE: An extra thread was added to this mission so now it costs 80 energy to finish it(including epic boss and 3 bird)

CH3 M4:
Boss: Sabretooth(Scrapper  XP(fighting with minibosses):115) Team up: Kitty Pride(Infiltrator)
Minibosses: Toad(InfiltratorXP: 95)
Epic Boss:None
Deploys:Colossus(2 battles), Infiltrator(1 battle), any hero(1 battle), any hero(1 battle)
Other Battles: 2 low threats, 2 medium threats, 2 high threats

Pro:You can finish this mission with 30 energy by doing 2 deploys and fighting a medium and a high threat. This mission has more deploys than CH1 M2 so you can get more consumables, also the XP is not bad.

Con: In order to be able to finish this mission with 30 energy you need to deploy Colossus(23 CP), also sometimes I had to use 40 energy in this mission because the deploys appeared too late. Suggestion: If you just want to spend 30 energy, make sure you have 2 available deploys when you start this mission(The Colossus deploy always appears) do them inmediately and do the high or medium threats. Just abort the mission until you see 2 available deploys. The battle with Sabretooth can be hard if you don't have Kitty pride, she appears at level 6 even if the mission is with 5 stars.

All CH12 missions except for CH12 M6:

Pro: In CH12 you can finish M1, M3, M4 and M5 with only 10 energy(1 boss roulette). CH12 M2 is extra special, you'll get 2 roulettes, The Boss and Epic Boss roulettes, for only 20 energy, if you want to farm CP very fast DON'T 5 star this mission, if you also want to level up your agent or heroes try challenge mode.

Con: The battles can be quite challenging so be ready to use some consumables because if you lose the battle you are going to need more energy. For CH12 M2 you'll need to deploy Kitty Pride in order to acces the epic boss fight. Finally, to have access to the final Chapter of season 1, you'll need 30 heroes and several mastery stars(I don't remember the number).

Note: In this chapter you'll see almost all the bosses and minibosses from season 1 including SO. That means you are going to fight Satana, Mephisto, Dragoness, etc.

Premium Missions:

You need to have a specific hero in order to do a particular premium mission, however these missions have good rewards, in every Boss roulette you have the chance to receive 2 good weapons, 1,3 and 5 CP.

CH5 M6:

Boss: Militant(Scrapper  XP(fighting with minibosses): 230) Team up: War Machine(Tactician)
Boss Drops: Power of Four, Super Blade Punch
Minibosses: Bowman(InfiltratorXP: 85), Hammer(Blaster  XP: 85)
Epic Boss: None
Deploys: Iron Man(2 battles), Hawkeye(2 battles), Scrapper(1 battle), Blaster(2 battles), any Hero(1 battle)
Other Battles: 3 medium threats, 3 high threats

Pro: You can finish this mission with 40 energy, do the deploys as soon as possible, fight only the high threats(or medium if you can't do a high) and do a 3 bird. The Super Blade Puch is a very good weapon if you are below level 100 and the Power of Four is good for PVP and if you want to level your agent slowly.

Con: You need to recruit War Machine if you want to play this mission, doing 3 bird here can be quite challenging if you don't have good weapons or your heroes are low level, remember that if you lose a fight you'll need more energy.

CH7 M6:
Boss: Vector(Blaster  XP(fighting with minibosses):200)
Boss Drops: Handheld Hohlraum, Cosmic Ray Bomb
Minibosses: Vapor(InfiltratorXP: 75), Ironclad(Bruiser  XP:75)
Deploys: Invisible Woman(3 battles), Thing(2 battles), Scrapper(1 battle), any hero(1 battle), any hero(1 battle)
Other Battles: 3 low threats, 2 medium threats, 3 high threats

Pro: You can finish this mission with 40 energy if you deploy Invisible Woman(the first deploy), fight only high threats(if you can't, do a medium), do another deploy and finally 3 bird the bosses. The Boss drops are useful(especially the CRB)and have a good PVP bonus.

Con: You need to recruit Human Torch to play this mission, also you need Invisible Woman if you want to finish it with 40 energy(in the worst case Thing too). I must warn you, 3 birding the U-foes is one of the most difficult battles in the game, you are going to need some consumables, strong heroes and a good strategy, otherwise you are going to lose the battle.

Suggestions:
You have the option to re-spin the roulette for 5 gold, if you are farming CP NEVER do this. 5 gold = 10 CP which is the max number of CP you can get in a epic boss roulette.

For every mission you 5 star you'll get 5 CP. You can 5 star everything and then start farming CP for the heroes you want.

I suggest to the new players to get the cheapest heroes first(Ms. Marvel, IW, Shulkie, etc) don't let the cost fool you, this heroes are very powerful, besides you need to increase your roster in order to unlock more chapters.

Avoid changing gold for CP, I know is tempting to do it when you want a new hero or a new suit, but if you have patience and keep trying, eventually you'll get all the CP you need without spending any gold. Save your gold for stuff you can't get in a roulette. An useful guide in how to spend your gold wisely is this one.

Special Operations and PVP heroes:
In the special operations we have the chance to recruit a new hero by completing some tasks. However, with the exception of special operations 1, we have always needed to deploy some specific heroes to complete the epic boss task, therefore, it's a good idea to always have some CP. I don't know which heroes are going to be required but there's a very high chance you may need heroes that were recently released.

Playdom has already re-released 2 of the special operations heroes, Mockingbird and Emma Frost, so if you miss one of this special heroes, you may be able to recruit them in the future, but keep in mind that these heroes are re-released for a limited time(usually a few days) and the price is high(200 CP). I want to mention that you can get Mockingbird if you play MAI(Marvel Avengers Initiave), but you will need to defeat taskmaster 3 times and of course link your accounts using Marvel XP.

PVP heroes are the ones you receive for placing in the adamantium league at the end of the season, however, these heroes become available for everyone 1 month after the end of the tournament. So far we have Deadpool and Cable available, both of them at 135 CP, most likely psylocke, punisher and all future PVP heroes will be 135 CP too.

Energy required to run Epic Bosses:
  • 2.3: 7 threats, Boss + Epic Boss: 90 Energy; Reward: Grecian Sai
  • 3.5: 5 threats, Boss + Epic Boss: 70 Energy; Reward: The Doombringer UPDATE: Now it costs 80 energy
  • 4.4: 5 threats, Boss + Epic Boss: 70 Energy; Reward: Magnetic Field Generator
  • 5.3: 8 threats, Boss + Epic Boss: 100 Energy; Reward: Norn Stone
  • 6.3: 8 threats, Boss + Epic Boss: 100 Energy; Reward: Electrostatic Arm
  • 7.3: 8 threats, Boss + Epic Boss: 100 Energy; Reward: Goblin Glider
  • 8.5: 7 threats, Boss + Epic Boss: 90 Energy; Reward: Possessed Pistol
  • 9.4: 9 threats, 2 bird Boss+ Epic Boss: 110 Energy; Reward: Only For Killing(Normal mode) or Batstone Model 7 (Excelsior mode)
  • 10.4: 9 threats, 2 bird boss + Epic boss: 110 Energy; Reward: Touch of Flame and Shadow(Normal mode) or Custom Vibra-Shotel(Excelsior Mode)

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Level V ISO Pairing Guide

ISO-8 Recommendations are not comprehensive and by no means compulsory. There are other variations due to the role they play in both PvE and/or PvP. Other factors include the constant changing game play and landscape due to the introduction or addition or decrease in passive buffs or costume/class changes. You as the gamer must decide at the end of the day what's best for your game-play on both PvE and PvP. Opinions differs.

✔ Each character has their own battle class, strength and can be influenced by ISO III placements.
✔ Each character can be set up into 3 types
✔ Offensive Attack
✔ Defensive Passive or
✔ Versatile Neutral Balanced?
✔ PvP - Player vs Player - Demands different ISO. So choose wisely.
✔ PvE - Players vs Computer only - Appeals to casual gamers, most take Chaotic.

Overview - ISO-8
Introduced in March 2012 when the game went public, ISO-8 or Isotope-8 is an integral part of your hero and heroine character set-up in Marvel: Avengers Alliance.

ISO-8, Items are unlocked by researching various branches of the ISO research tree. Fragments start from Level 30, Shards Level 60, Crystals at Level 100. Reactive at Level 125. Reactive ISO-8s are customized to agent level once they are slotted. Each ISO-8s are used to boost a character's statistics. They are achieved by slotting Isotopes into a hero's or agent's uniform within the team management screen. The number of slots available for an Agent depends on the uniform equipped. Six uniform categories are available, with each offering different uniforms with different power levels (or slots) as your Heroes and Agent progress through the game.

Most Hero and Heroine slots has 8 vaccines. Once inserted, they stay permanent and cannot be transferred. They can be replaced by inserting another fresh set of ISO-8, subject to game play. Previous pieces that get over-written are gone once the change had been made.

Red ISO-8 - increases Attack and Accuracy
Blue ISO-8 - increases Health and Stamina
Yellow ISO-8 - increases Defense and Evasion
Orange ISO-8 - increases Attack, Defense, Evasion and Accuracy
Green ISO-8 - increases Health, Stamina, Defense and Evasion
Purple ISO-8 -  increases Health, Stamina, Attack and Accuracy
Prismatic ISO-8 - generalises by increasing all stats marginally.

Tier V Iso-8 Research - Released on 13.03.2013.
Reactive Iso-8s are now available for research for Agents level 125 and above. These can be purchased for Silver and S.H.I.E.L.D. points. Refined Reactive SO-8s can be purchased using gold only.

Please note that his suggestions are mostly offense oriented and made from the perspective of a Level 300 player, so it is recommended to use this guide as a reference to tweak your heroes according to your needs. For example, if you have a high accuracy bonus, and say your scrapper hero already has good accuracy to begin with, instead of using Violent Iso (Attack+Accuracy) on him, you can boost his other stats where he is lacking, maybe Powerful Iso (Health+Attack) instead.

We will also be updating this guide to provide alternate suggestions. Stay tuned!

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Basic Gold Guide-How To Maximize The Impact Of Your Gold

avengers alliance goldGold is the premium currency of Marvel: Avengers Alliance, and if you're not willing to fork over your credit card information, you need to know how to manage yours carefully. That said, gold is not as rare in  Marvel: Avengers Alliance as premium currencies are in other games. In addition to starting the game with a handful of doubloons, you will get 1 more gold each time you level up and 1 each time you four-star a mission. This regular flow of gold into your pocket will tempt you into testing some areas of the game you can't get to with silver and shield points alone, or skip yourself ahead of the curve by accelerating progress. Let's look at how to maximize the impact of your gold on your game.

First off, let's touch on some ways you should NOT spend your gold.
1. Re-spinning the roulette
The boss roulette is particularly tempting when you are trying to get a rare drop, but listen to the voice of experience here: you will not get the drop you're looking for, and what you get instead will not be worth 5 gold. Just consider that the second-best item on a roulette is normally 5 command points... but if you traded gold directly for CP, you would get 10 CP for 5 gold, so you lost half your purchasing power on buying the roulette spin! This is absolutely the fastest way to lose your gold.
2. Buying Command Points or Shield Points
Getting a couple extra command points to grab that next hero is understandably enticing, but resist the urge. You will get Command Points even faster than you get gold via boss roulettes and 5-starring missions, so patience will pay off. In the end, you will get the extra CP you need for that character you want, but you will not get your gold back after it's swapped. As for shield points, they flow like lies off a politician's teeth once you have sufficient allies. If you need SPs, visit the add-me post and your problems will be solved.
3. Any kind of speed-up
Accelerating traning/character experience, upgrading jets, skipping tasks, or anything else that's made for the impatient. Impatience is for the cash players. If you don't want to part with your own money then you'll just have to take your time.
4. The in-battle store
Not used very often, but the tutorial has you go in once, so you'll be tempted to go back when things get tight. You'll be happier if you don't.
5. Items just for their PvP bonus
Plenty of people buy these limited edition 2g PvP bonus items. Not only is the gold cost low, but it'll give you a quick shot in the PvP arm. However, these bonuses are hardly irreplaceable... many free items dropped later in the game have bonuses that are just as good or better. Some of these items will even be re-released later as deploy drops. Patience is a recurring theme here.
6. Uniforms or ISOs
Until you reach levels 65 and 100, which I'll go into in a minute.

There are more, and I'm open to suggestions of what else to add here.

Now that you're not buying any of those things, what should you buy instead?
1. Quantum Jumper
At level 60, QJ will be available in the store for 36 gold. QJ is a gadget that gives the entire team an immediate extra turn; in a turn-based game this is like handing you a ticket to Winsville. It is the undisputed king of gold buys. There is no other item that can replace it, and you will use it for the entire game going forward. Don't argue with me, don't ask if I'm sure it's worth it; the absolute, unequivocal best way in the game to spend gold is buying Quantum Jumper. If I sound repetitive, it's because I've seen too many players second-guess this advice, even in the comments section of this thread, after my repeatedly saying not to ask if it's worthwhile, some people have asked if I'm sure this is a good idea. Don't be that guy, once you reach level 60 and have 36 gold, immediately buy your QJ and don't look back.
2. Commander Trench or two
At level 65, the commander trench uniforms will be available for 24 gold. These are the best uniforms in the game to-date; not only do they have the best base stats, they unlock all 8 ISO slots, giving you the most options to buff and customize your agent. There are very few gold buys you can make that will universally improve your game going forward, but the commander trenches do just that. As to what class, the generalist is the most popular. I would encourage you to think more critically than that: scrapper has the best stats overall, a great class bonus, and an avoidable class penalty; bruiser has very good stats, is incredibly strong in PvE (especially if you have quick action attacks such as S.A Pincer); infiltrator has the best class bonus overall, one you'll be glad to use in any situation.
Also at level 65, the reinforced trenches will be available, following the requisite research, for 100,000 silver each. Some players insist these are good enough. I insist they are wrong. You should have at least one commander trench at your disposal, if not two. I personally have three, and use the reinforced trenches to fill in the classes I use less frequently.
3. Unstable ISO-8
This is the limiting factor in participating in special operations. I'm not saying you should blow through every brick of gold you have to play more spec ops, but a well-timed uISO purchase can mean the difference between completing an objective on time and missing out. The weapon drops and characters available through spec ops are very rare and worth acquiring, and if it takes a handful of gold to get you to them, spend without regret.
4. Limited Edition gadgets
Notice I said "gadgets" and not "weapons." Limited Edition items come "customized," which means they scale to your current level +10 at the time you acquire them. The customized weapons get noticeably weaker once you exceed their set power level, and continue to weaken as you progress. Once you've gone 15 or 20 levels past their power level, they are functionally unusable. Gadgets, on the other hand, have a set effect and the "customized" feature has little or no penalty to them. They are often well worth the acquiring. That said, most of them cost 64 gold and that can be difficult to save; if you have to skip them, don't feel bad.
5. ISO Crystals
Now, take care with this one. There are some pretty potent gold-cost ISOs available after level 100 (as of this writing, the best in the game). However, new ISOs are being released and Playdom has announced that they are looking at ways to make ISOs do different things, so the gold you spend on ISOs now may not seem wisely spent a month from now. That said, the current gold-cost ISO Crystals are across-the-board superior to the research-and-silver ones, so if you want to make your agent or heroes as strong as possible in the current environment, that will mean spending gold.

Honorable mentions:
*Chrono Overdrive (the silver-cost Sudden Support is close enough in function that you won't miss CO if you choose to not buy)
*SIPDW11 (mostly nostalgia; was great for CP farming, but still a great weapon if you're farming drops such as warehouse keys, gamma satchels, etc)

In short, absolutely get QJ and commander trenches; after that it's up to your good judgement, but don't let yourself waste your scarcest resource.

Marvel Avengers Alliance: ISO-8 Pairing Guide And Suggestion : Which iso-8 will suit your hero ? (Updated)

iso suggestion marvelSuggested ISO on What, Which, Who To Pair With

ISO-8 Recommendations are not comprehensive and by no means compulsory. There are other variations due to the role they play in both PvE and/or PvP. Other factors include the constant changing game play and landscape due to the introduction or addition or decrease in passive buffs or costume/class changes. You as the gamer must decide at the end of the day what's best for your game-play on both PvE and PvP. Opinions differs.

  • Each character has their own battle class, strength and can be influenced by ISO III placements.
  • Each character can be set up into 3 types
  • Offensive Attack
  • Defensive Passive or
  • Versatile Neutral Balanced
  • PvP - Player vs Player - Demands different ISO. So choose wisely.
  • PvE - Players vs Computer only - Appeals to casual gamers, most take Chaotic.
