They are sidequests, just like ones from SO4 in order to get Grief
Its a side mission. You can most likely unlock magneto as a playable character if you complete the mission. However, you need to open the boxes though and for that you may need some luck.
When do the sidequests start? I beat 10 hellfire club soldiers but nothing came up.

DARR123, its relatively easy if you know how to farm CP. grind mission with epic-bosses for increased CP drop chance, and dont 5-star those mission (hint: ABORT and restart mission instead of "exit map" after you've defeated the boss & epic boss).
one month grinding gets me enough CP to recruit Tigra, Beast, Human Torch and Thing.
Now I just need to grind ~100+ CP I need for Deadpool.

What happens if i skip a task? for example:
I need 1 distress call, even though i cannot recive one at the moment.
The next task would be to kill one of the mini-bosses. What happens if i kill the mini bosses BEFORE reciving the actuall task?

The early chapters Epic-boss should need less energy than later chapters to complete them. For me 4-4 works well (I need 70 energies to complete a 4-4 and then abort), but thats because I already 5-starred chapter 2 and 3 epic missions.... :-(
you must complete the tasks by its order. if you kill the mini boss before the task that tells you to kill it, you have to kill him again
When does the "Master of Magnetism" appear? I can't find these tasks....

After task 7 then you can get to do the side missions.
Get 1 Distress Call for me takes a lot of time and usually is from Tonny (i have 37 friends but never seems that they need help :-)). Is there a simple way?
the distress call it's renew every day (or so), you collec them, then you use them, if you don't use them they don't appear again. it's not that your friends need help, it's that you use theirs.
What happens if you complete an epic boss level to 5 stars does it not give you cp anymore?

if your a new player i suggest saving 25 gold since its easy to earn gold at low levels rather than farming cps since if havoc is once gone he is expected to be around 200cp all spec ops heros are of this amount
i have 76 gold of currently and can easily skip the last task
To Farm CP is By Redoing a Certain Quest from the Boss Roulette. Like many and also including me, I play the Mission 4-4 as it requires the least amount of energy to Get to The Epic Boss (70 Energy) Wherelse other Epic bosses Requires 80-100 Energies. Do bear in mind that you need Storm In order to Reach The Epic Boss For Mission 4-4. Normal Boss Roulette you have a chance to get 1,3,5 CP Wherelese for Epic Bosses, You Stand A Chance To Get 3,5,10 CP. Dont blame me if you got some rotten luck in the Roulette. Afterall, this game takes alot of Patience. I managed to Farm 254 CP within 3 weeks. And yeah Im done With Deadpool. Only Left With Tigra =D. For newbies, I recommend you to use Gold Instead for the Last Spec OPS Task. Deadpool+Tigra+Beast = 315 Cp = 158 Golds So might as well you guys use 25 golds. Am I Right To Say That? Good Luck tho

You CAN still get CP drop from boss/epic-boss when the mission is already 5-star, but it would be harder since the mission levels to your own level... I pick the easier way, not a waste of time :-)

Right on bro, same method with me. only that I recruited Tigra first. now I just need to grind more CP to get Deadpool :-)
The only thing I see it aborting the mission after boss kill is so you can farm that specific mission without having it maxed to 5 stars. If you played it again in 5 stars mission it becomes ur lvl scaling basis like premium and spec ops u lvl faster, enemies gets harder for the price of random reward which is disadvantageous to season pvp. what they farm ain't the stars but the 1-3-5 cp of boss roulette.
i played mission 3.5 4 times, but i dont get the CP in any of the round, can any1 help me how to farm more more CP in this mission, from which hero i play with against epic boss, help me
cover comics are repeated in boxes, even when using the option to open 10 pieces for 100% chance - another idea of pumping money

1. You cannot beat Green Goblin outside of SPECOPS
2. Green Goblin has 20.000 at life.
3. For all epic bosses you need Beast, Tigra, Deadpool, Nightcrawler and Phoenix.
4. Is pure gambling at Magneto's covers.
5. For not anymore facebook crashes use : Internet Explorer, Google Crome, Opera.
6. Farm CP at 4.4 with Storm.

If I pay 25 gold to skip #25 task which is defeat the epic boss green goblin does that ALSO count towards the #6 task with magneto which is defeat the epic boss green goblin? Or do I physically need to beat green goblin?
nop for the next task which if i am correct for 16 lockboxes you need to skip with another 40 gold

@dino if you 5 star the level, the difficulty will be then equal to your level, making it harder to get through the mission, however if you leave it at 4 stars the difficulty will remain the same and as you level up it will become easier to beat the enemies. both ways will get you CP points pending on what you get from the randomizer.

dear weapon is in research not in your inevtory go to the reseach or just us the task manu and click the ling it will take you to the research directly

I finished 15 of 25 - Versus mission in spec ops 6.. that you will need to win 5 pvp battles.. I didn't get the item.. but it shows that i completed it.. I can't move forward with the research.. I tried refreshing the page.. it didn't work.. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!!!

Best combo is Collosus, yourself as a scrapper, and Havok. Use collosus's steel curtain the entire time and make him lv 9 or 10. use the phoenix weapon from Spec ops 3 that causes burning and poisoning. By doing so, the "Fear" that is applied won't activate Juggernaut's ability to attack you when you hit Mystique

i had the same problem too and i dont know what to do,, if it doesnt get fix, i maybe skip it with gold,
i have been dedicated, i have 41 gold saved (last time i spend was for skipping task 25 en spec ops 5) so i have to skip task 25 and buy ten lockboxes.
without any shortcut or money i have simply been doing every task as soon as possible, and now i'm in task 23, 24 is going to be slow (i have 2, 2 and 1 stars, but really few yellow isos).
how many iso required to complete this m series task:
every enemy has two hellfire and one m series, the mini bosses have 2 and the boss none, in total, i counted 9 m series in the mission, so i ad to start again to win the tenth. i spend 90 energy and 120 isos, but if you abort the mission before the living monolith and start again, you can spend 80 energy and 100 isos.
i don't know if there's a shorter or more effective way.

Ok, This is an advice: if you are making the 17th task, enter the mission and finish two sentinels, then exit the mission and restart the mission, that's because there is not enough sentinels to achieve the task in just one try, i've tried M-series sentinels from another chapter but doesn't work... @Nienna You shouldn't abort the spec ops mission, since you need the stars ranking for one of the missions, that way you are wasting both energy and
isos, it's best to give it two runs earning the mission score than then banging your head for quitting.
I play pvp, but i suck at it, even with good heroes i am in the 5% and i can never get the uniform.
they put you with someone better ranked than you, but since that's the same for everyone, I don't really hate it.

Hey I´m already recruited Magneto, you don't need to finish the side quests but you must have the 8 comic covers in your collection, anyway the three remaining lockboxes gave me 3 CP + 3 CP and 10000 silver (a comic cover) so, finish the side quests are a great deal

Another alternative would be to use Hercules instead of Colossus, works for me. Hercules does all the killing, passively by counter attacks :-)
Does the blog author has info on lockboxes % drop chance? just to give an idea if it'd be worth it to open individually or 10 at once (we do know they say 7% chance drop for cover if individual lockboxes is opened and 100% if opening 10 at once, but I want to know the other item drop % chance?)

You CAN do regular missions to defeat mutants to complete the task. C2M5 has 3 mutants, C6M2 has 2, etc
In the spec ops tasks you CANNOT use regular missions to complete tasks (ie: defeat Mystique)

ecko you can get cp by roulette or in daily bonus... dont know abt dai bns... but you can get in mission... at which level you are... paly 4.4 or 7.3 epic boss mission, dont overkill the boss in tht mission, just normally kill him..., u will 5 cp for sure, agent kill the epic boss..., by those method i got 100 cp in 1 week

A few tips:
Mission 13: Complete 5 deploys. You can deploy on regular mission
Mission 22: Collect 10 Lockboxes. Finish cost 20 gold...Hehehe you can buy 1 Lockbox for 1 gold, so 10 Locboxes 10 gold.

i did that and nothing worked so i ended up bug reporting to playdom and they have now fixed the problem and i have quest 17 but all the M sentinals i beat during mission 3 and the completion of epic boss (Green Goblin) didn´t count but i did finish a lockbox task and i´m only 1 cover from magneto so it´s not all bad just need to collect more iso 8 to carry on.
I don't get this Sidequest thing. It seems like I'm just using energy up right now and not accomplishing anything. I haven't gotten any lockboxes so far. I beat the first mission (but didn't do all of the fights. I skipped a couple blues and yellows) and i did all the deploys and won every fight in the second. Am I wasting my time, here?

I'm using generalist reinforced suit(level 94), and Human torch(blaster) with beast(generalist) both level 10...

what im really mad about is the DAILY REWARD you already know what your gonna get before you even pick a ? box....everyday all i do is check my Iso, my CP and my Golds Before i pick a box and it seem like if you get something then your stuff will change but if you getting whatever other items in the ? Box then it wont be no changes....I hope im making some sense

I keep playing 4.4 anyway to get some CP hopefully, but is it a coincidence that every second time I defeat Vapor, the game crushes and I lose the roulette?
Also, on the daily reward roulette, I keep getting the bloody scarab (1/9 chance). Never got the isos, CPs or gold.
